 Italian Sacrifice: Marchi FamilyGiulio, Aurelia, Mariagrazia, and Carlo Marchi all from Rosignano, Italy housed and fed American pilots after the invasion of Italy in 1944. |  Medal of Honor from MaineLt. Robert Waugh became the only soldier who enlisted in the war from Maine to earn the Medal of Honor for his heroics at the Gustav Line in Italy.
